A Hot Summer’s Wedding Day
It was a hot Saturday afternoon, end of July. The temperature was in the upper 80s with oppressive humidity that was itching to burst into a torrential downpour. The kind of day you don't want to step foot outside of air conditioning unless you're heading to the beach in shorts and flip-flops. We had plans to shoot the bride and groom with both of their families before the reception, in full dresses and tuxedos! I was a bit nervous about how everyone would be able to keep their cool on a day like that. Photos of a sweaty bride and groom would not be so memorable.
With two coolers stocked full of ice and water bottles, towels, and a mini bus from the hotel on standby, we got right down to business. I don't know how they did it, but everyone stayed cool, or at least appeared to. We shot for more than an hour and everyone was composed, looked great, and had fun while doing it! They did great! And we captured some memorable moments of the bride, groom and family together.

After the wedding party photos were finished in the park, we all headed back to the hotel for a break and a change of clothes before the reception. Remember that itching for a torrential downpour I referred to earlier? Well, it happened, and it happened just minutes after we all got back to the hotel and it poured, hard, all night long. We got lucky and just missed it!
The reception was well done and elegant. They played mostly classical music throughout the evening, which was a nice change from the typical wedding DJ set we hear at so many other weddings. Enjoy some snaps from the evening, once again, sans groom...
